Stonefly Lodge

Award winning Stonefly Lodge provides luxury 5 star accommodation and dining on the banks of the Motueka River, only 50 minutes drive from Nelson.

Architecturally designed and built from local stone and timber the Lodge offers a warm earthy atmosphere.

The Lodge interior focuses on the large stone double sided fireplace which provides the ambiance to the games room, dining room and sunroom. A large open kitchen adjoining the dining area offers the relaxed atmosphere where guest dine together, or private dining opportunities can also be catered for.

Complete with library, a snooker table, and the "Matai Bar", guests will have the ideal setting to relax after an exciting days fly fishing or after exploring the numerous sites and attractions of the local region.

The Lodge has been designed with the discerning international traveller in mind, offering luxurious appointments and professional hospitality by the owners. An ideal property for exclusive use hire, with helicopter access.

Accommodation

Luxury accommodation is provided up stairs with 4 guest rooms all with spectacular views from private balconies overlooking the Motueka River and beyond to the Mt Arthur Range in Kahurangi National Park.

Fine linen sheets, top quality duvets, super king beds, hand crafted furniture, local New Zealand art, all add to the ambiance of the spectacular wilderness setting.

All rooms are equipped with private ensuites, writing desk, ipod station, luggage storage, hairdryer, heated towel rails, and bath robes.

There are two guest rooms in each of the two wings of the building enabling the rooms to be quite remote from the main activities area on the ground floor.

All guest rooms, and the entire lodge, has wireless connection and the lodge offers an i-pad for use in the guest rooms for in-house entertainment if required.

Centrally located between 3 spectacular National Parks (Abel Tasman, Nelson Lakes, and Kahurangi National Parks) the Lodge makes an ideal base from which to explore the natural wonders of the region. World class fly fishing at our doorstep , as well as sea kayaking, guided and unguided hiking tours, wine tasting, white water rafting, rock climbing, abseiling, maintain bike riding, horse riding tours, and exploring the many art and craft studios in the region are on offer.

Finding your way

Only 50 minute drive south west from Nelson on the Motueka Valley Highway or only 45 minutes drive from Abel Tasman National Park.

We can arrange helicopter transfers from Nelson Airport to our own helipad just meters from the front door.
